I want to set my car up on E85, anyone know of any tuners in the area that have done that before? I'm looking at guys from all over the country but I'm not going to fly out anyone or drive a large amount if I dont have to. I have been thinking about Jobe at Turbo People as of right now.

Thanks for any directions I could be pointed in!

Frankie, I heard through the grape vine that Jobe is "retired", so I'd check into that first...Plus after talking to botch about it, he totally locks his tunes which is gay.

Cheaper and it's around 105 octane.

E85 is amazing to make power! IMHO, unless your are planning on running more then 15-16lbs of boost tho it's not worth the costs involved to upgrade your fuel system (pumps/injectors and possibly lines)

keep in mine you will see about a 27% drop (avg) in fuel economy with it as well. There are a lot of stations around now that sell it and on reason I bot the Shelby I did. Corn power baby!!!

Frankie I know you've done research as we talked bout this a bit in the past. I would think it wouldnt be that much different to tune with E85 than regular gasoline. Other than the different target air/fuel ratio. The adjustments to get you there should be pretty much the same. Or am I missing soemthing?

you need a more fuel to tune with E85, the stoich is different and there are some trick from what I've read up on.

Thats whats Im saying with the target air/fuel. Obviously you need upgraded pumps and injectors to support the added fuel, but from there its just setting the pumps and injectors to provide enough fuel so the air/fuel ratio is correct. I may be making it way easier in my head than it really is, i dunno.

Like Willy said above, its equal to 105 octane. Its also available directly across the highway from Sayville Ford right at the Citgo. I believe its currently going for 2.30$ a gallon.

Also, combined with the Ethanol capabilities to cool the mass amount of fuel moved through the motor keeps everything much cooler. This is a HUUUUUGE advantage on blower cars like the 03/04 cobra or anyone running a Kenne Bell or Whipple... I'm willing to bet on E85 my car should be able to put down 700WHP give or take at about 23psi.

Just based on what I've read from other tuners, there are a few tricks that need to be implemented in order to make the car run correctly on E85. hence why I'm hoping to find someone with some experience tuning it that is local. Getting the car to start and idle seems to be the biggest problems.

I have the fuel system all planned out, I just need some bigger injectors and some serious fuel pump/pumps. Still unsure if I want to sump the tank and run extermal pumps or just a fuel hat setup.

Thought there might be a trick or two to get it right.

You look into the Ford GT supercar pumps? I dont know their capabilities or your requirements but I know swapping in two is pretty easy and they arent expensive. I believe for makes a triple hat specifically for them as well. Personally Id want to go that route to keep the stock look.

I have the ford GT pumps already, lines, rails, and 60lbs injectors... I just need to change the pump setup, run a return line, and get some 80lbs injectors. 55-60psi base fuel pressure on a return system with the correct pumps to maintain that pressure and 80lbs injectors will support 800+... probably up to about 850WHP maxed out. I'm shooting for low 700s, so I'll have head room.

You need to use a return style fuel setup to support the fuel needed to support the power I'm shooting for. I could probably go to a triple pump returnless setup but I'm just not up for messing with these returnless setups. I personally dont like them, never have and when moving huge amounts of fuel its not as effective.

I plan to go to either a weldon external and sump the tank or the lethal performance triple walbro setup.... I like the triple walbro setup but I dont like the fact I need to use 3 pumps.

I'm trying to see how involved and a pain in the ass a big external single pump and sumped tank is on a car that sees +/- 10,000 miles a year. I'm thinking that the triple pump setup is going to be the way to fly all said and done. I just gotta suck it up and get the money together lol

from what I read you'll need bigger then 80s for 800whp on E85

my Shelby has way bigger then 80s injectors!

I dont know too much bout return style systems but you seem to have your ducks in a row. Have you looked at Glenn's Performance? I know they have some sick fuel system setup for a more low key approach. Their prices seems pretty reasonable too. Cant hurt to take a look although I dont have any experience with them

The Fore Triple Hat setup is pimp and would be much quieter than a huge single Weldon external pump, I would do that with a Glenns Performance sumped tank...you going to keep stock rails? What about the lines?
